As the activity director for a senior retirement home, I organized a trip to a lapidarium museum, Lizzadro’s, in Oakbrook, for our residents. The museum had stunning displays featuring themes such as the desert and the forest, as well as beautiful jade vases and jars. One of the highlights of the visit was a magnificent 12ft. jade temple that was intricately crafted over 10 years by 150 jade specialists. We also had the opportunity to view fossils and gaze upon a breathtaking 600 karat diamond. The museum showcased a wide array of stones, including all the birthstones, making for a truly captivating experience for all who attended.
